How He Serves
As the Pastor of Administration, Pastor Ian oversees the day to day operations of the church. He is responsible for our church documents as well as policies and procedures to keep us operating smoothly and within the confines of the law. He oversees the Finance Team to ensure 3RC is fiscally responsible enabling real ministry to take place. Pastor Ian also oversees the counseling ministry as well as the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of our facilities.
Pastor Ian met Kari while attending Winthrop College (now University) in Rock Hill, SC. They were married on May 17, 1986 (Kari’s birthday) in Orangeburg, SC and have lived, courtesy of the Navy, in Washington, Alabama, and Connecticut before moving to Georgia in 1994 to be stationed at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Ian and Kari live in St. Marys and have two grown children and an awesome granddaughter.
Ian was raised in Des Plaines, IL just outside of Chicago and is a life-long Chicago sports fan. He also enjoys cycling, riding his motorcycle, woodworking, hanging out by the pool, and fixing things. He is an avid collector of challenge coins.
Pastor Ian served honorably in the U.S. Navy’s submarine community for 23 years and retired as a Master Chief Machinist’s Mate in September 2006. He was ordained in 1999 while in the Navy and was actively involved in lay ministry. He entered full time vocational ministry after his retirement from the Navy.
In addition to the nuclear pipeline, Ian completed numerous technical and leadership schools while in the Navy. He has degrees in General Studies, Pastoral Studies, Liberal Arts, and Pastoral Leadership. He is also a trained biblical counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. He is the Supervising Chaplain and a patrol supervisor for the St. Marys Police Department, and serves as a Chaplain with the Southeast Georgia Health System.
Zane N. Owens

How He Serves
As the Pastor for Missions, Outreach, and Evangelism, Zane leads our faith family to be active in local, national, and global missions and leads us to be intentionally evangelistic in our day to day lives. Zane’s greatest passion in ministry is disciple-making; simply following the biblical model of sharing the faith, teaching the Word of God, and mentoring others. Because of this passion, Zane has a driving desire to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples of all nations. Pastor Zane says that he has the best job in the world because he gets paid to tell people about Jesus!
After dating for seven years, Zane married his high school sweetheart Sabrina May 2000. They have two children: Elissa (2009) and Jude (2013.).
Zane enjoys spending time with his family, camping, off-roading, hanging out at the beach and pretty much everything that has to do with the ocean. He is a lifelong musician and enjoys playing the bass, piano, and singing. Zane is also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
Ordained in 2007, Zane has served in various ministry positions since 1996 including ten years singing tenor with a southern gospel quartet.
